Guide vs. GoodTime

Guide vs. GoodTime

Guide and GoodTime are both AI-powered platforms built to automate interview scheduling and recruiting coordination. We built Guide as a focused set of four connected products, our AI Scheduler, Candidate Portal, Messenger, and Live Surveys, purpose-built for Greenhouse-based teams that care deeply about candidate experience. GoodTime built a broader enterprise platform with published support for eight applicant tracking systems, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, AI-powered applicant screening, and dedicated solutions across a wide range of industries. Neither approach is universally better. It comes down to whether your team wants one platform that covers a lot of ground, or a platform built specifically around how a Greenhouse-centered coordination team actually works. Here is how the two compare, fact by fact.

Scheduling and panel coordination

Both platforms handle single interviews, multi-day loops, and complex panels with automated conflict resolution and rescheduling. We state that Guide can increase coordination speed by up to 7x. GoodTime publishes customer-specific outcomes on its site: a case study attributed to Joe Albano, Director of Talent Acquisition at HelloFresh, reports a 50% reduction in time to schedule, and a case study attributed to Bastian Muller, Global Head of Talent Acquisition at OLX, reports a 43% reduction in time-to-schedule. These are each vendor's own published customer results tied to a specific, named company, not a controlled head-to-head test, so we would treat any single number from either company as directional rather than a guarantee for your own team.

ATS and integration breadth

We built Guide's integration around Greenhouse specifically, rather than spreading engineering effort across many ATS platforms, so the connection runs deep: native scheduling workflows, one-click confirmations, and coordination that lives inside the ATS your team already uses, not a bolted-on connector. We currently integrate with Greenhouse for the ATS, along with Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Zoom, and CoderPad. GoodTime takes the opposite approach and publishes integrations with eight ATS platforms (Workday, Greenhouse, SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Lever, iCIMS, Ashby, and Jobvite), plus Office 365 and Outlook calendars, Microsoft Teams and Webex for video, four collaborative coding tools beyond CoderPad (HackerRank, Codility, CodeSignal, and Hired Assessments), DocuSign for e-signature, Okta and OneLogin for SSO, and Envoy and Eptura for visitor management. If your team runs on Greenhouse, our focus there means fewer workarounds and a tighter fit. If you run on Workday, Lever, iCIMS, SuccessFactors, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, or Jobvite, we are not currently built for that ATS, and GoodTime's broader list is the more direct starting point.

Candidate communication channels

Our Messenger is purpose-built for branded, trackable email communication that lives natively inside Greenhouse, rather than spreading across several channels. GoodTime offers SMS and WhatsApp texting for candidate communication in addition to email. If text-based candidate outreach is central to how your team operates, that is a real GoodTime strength we do not currently match. If your candidates and interviewers work mostly in email and you want that channel to be deeply integrated with your ATS and genuinely on-brand, that is exactly what we built Messenger to do.

Candidate feedback and reporting

We built our Live Surveys around a specific idea: candidates give more honest feedback when they know it will not affect their outcome. Our Survey Response Escrow approach keeps responses anonymous and unlocked only after a hiring decision is made. GoodTime takes a different approach with its Interview Intelligence layer, which surfaces analytics, benchmarks, and bottleneck detection alongside candidate and interviewer insights collected after interviews. Both companies are solving the "we don't actually know why candidates are dropping off" problem, just with different mechanics: we lean into anonymized, escrowed qualitative feedback, and GoodTime leans into broader operational analytics and benchmarking.

Applicant screening

We have kept Guide focused on the coordination and scheduling layer of hiring rather than expanding into applicant screening, so scheduling, the candidate portal, messaging, and feedback get our full attention as one connected system instead of competing with a screening product for the same roadmap. GoodTime offers a dedicated AI-powered applicant screening product as part of its platform, positioned to help identify and advance candidates before the interview stage. If you want screening and scheduling from a single vendor, GoodTime's published scope is broader here. If you already have a screening approach you like and want a coordination platform that is not trying to own every stage of hiring, that focus is exactly what we built Guide for.

Security and compliance

We are SOC 2 audited and certified, GDPR and CCPA compliant, and we encrypt all data at rest and in transit. GoodTime's security page also lists SOC 2 Type II (ISAE-3000), SOC 3, ISO 42001 (an AI management systems standard), HIPAA/HITECH, and documentation tied to New York City's Local Law 144 automated employment decision tool requirements, along with an optional EU-based data hosting arrangement. If your team is in a regulated industry like healthcare, or is specifically evaluating NYC Local Law 144 exposure for automated hiring tools, we would encourage you to confirm current certification status with us or with GoodTime directly, since compliance documentation changes over time.

Industries and company profile

We have concentrated on technology and consumer-tech companies rather than building industry-specific workflows across every vertical, which lets us tune Guide closely to how fast-moving tech and consumer-tech teams actually hire. Our published customers, including MongoDB, Glossier, Duolingo, Strava, GitLab, Netlify, and NexHealth, reflect that focus. GoodTime explicitly markets to a wide range of industries beyond technology, including financial services, healthcare, life sciences, logistics and trucking, manufacturing, professional services, retail, and travel and hospitality, and publishes dedicated solutions for high-volume and campus recruiting. If you are hiring at high volume across several non-tech verticals, GoodTime's stated industry breadth may be the more directly relevant starting point. If you are a technology or consumer-tech company, Guide is built specifically around how teams like yours hire.

Who should use Guide

We built Guide for recruiting operations and coordination teams that run on Greenhouse, care deeply about candidate experience, and want scheduling, a branded candidate portal, messaging, and anonymized feedback working together as one connected system, without needing SMS outreach or applicant screening bundled into the same vendor.

Who might prefer GoodTime

A team that needs support for a non-Greenhouse ATS (especially Workday, Lever, iCIMS, SuccessFactors, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, or Jobvite), text-based candidate communication, built-in applicant screening, or industry-specific workflows outside of technology may find GoodTime's broader published platform a better starting point to evaluate.

Frequently asked questions

Is GoodTime a direct competitor to Guide?

Yes. Both are AI-powered interview scheduling and recruiting coordination platforms competing for the same kind of buyer: a recruiting operations or coordination team looking to automate scheduling and improve candidate experience.

Does Guide integrate with the same ATS platforms as GoodTime?

No. We have focused deliberately on Greenhouse so that integration runs deep rather than broad. GoodTime publishes integrations with eight ATS platforms, including Workday, Lever, iCIMS, SuccessFactors, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, and Jobvite in addition to Greenhouse.

Does Guide offer applicant screening like GoodTime?

No. We have chosen to stay focused on the coordination and scheduling layer of hiring rather than adding screening. We are focused on interview scheduling, the candidate portal, branded messaging, and candidate surveys.

What security certifications does Guide have?

We are SOC 2 audited and certified, GDPR, and CCPA compliant. GoodTime's security page also lists SOC 3, ISO 42001, HIPAA/HITECH, and NYC Local Law 144 materials. We would encourage you to confirm current certification status with us or with GoodTime directly before making a compliance-driven decision.

Can I use text messaging with Guide the way I can with GoodTime?

Not currently. We have focused Messenger on deep, branded email communication inside Greenhouse rather than spreading across channels. SMS and WhatsApp messaging are not part of our published feature set today.
